Scrap a Car London are an Environmentally Friendly company, ensuring that the disposal of your vehicle is taken care of within UK and European regulations for Scrap Car Disposal. Our disposal processes are approved by the Department of The Environment.
More than 2 million cars reach the end of their life in the UK every year – which would lead to a great deal of wastage and negative environmental impact if not disposed of correctly. Scrap a Car London are committed to doing their part to help minimise the environmental impact of the cars we dispose of.
The main way to ensure that the impact to the environment is minimised is to recycle and re-use as much of the vehicle and its fittings as possible. UK and European directives mean that between 74% and 80% of a vehicle should be reused or recycled.
We start this process by removing the vehicles Tyres and other non-metallic Fittings that can be reused or recycled. Tyres can either be reused or melted down and re-moulded. We then dispose of the main car body – the scrap metal – in a registered scrap metal recycling plant. Your vehicle will be crushed ready to be melted down as the first part of the Recycling Process.
We regularly monitor the environmental performance of our operation in order to ensure that we meet the UK and EU car scrappage guidelines.
